Australians in Antarctica…and other adventures

I’m enDSCN3147joying the process of researching a new book on Australians in Antarctica for the National Library of Australia. Whenever I get the chance, I spend time in the Petherick Reading Room surrounded by books, and occasionally taking time out to delve into the Special Collections materials.

How lucky am I!

On another note, I’m planning a trip to the UK and US next May to coincide with the release of Wild Sea by the University of Chicago Press in spring 2019. And coming up in January – I’ll be giving a talk on Cook and the Southern Ocean at the National Library on Saturday 19 January, 10-11 am in the Lower Ground Floor Theatre, then on Friday 25 January I’ll be presenting a session for the National Youth Science Forum at the ANU.
